Imprivata Wins Best Security Solution for Healthcare at SC Magazine Awards

OneSign™ honored for ease of use, user support, and efficiency benefits.

LEXINGTON, MA — May 9, 2007 — Imprivata®, Inc., the enterprise authentication and access management appliance company, has been named Best Security Solution for Healthcare at the 2007 SC Magazine Europe Awards. The ceremony, held alongside the Infosecurity Europe 2007 conference, saw Imprivata’s OneSign appliance recognised for the benefits it can deliver to healthcare organisations in terms of greater security, ease of management, the removal of password problems and increased user productivity.

Additionally, OneSign supports integration with the smart cards provided by the NHS Connecting for Health scheme, allowing single sign-on to both nationally provided applications such as the Spine, as well as those provided by the individual Trusts. Imprivata’s unique appliance-based approach, coupled with the support for the NHS smart card, demonstrates that OneSign is extremely simple to deploy and manage, and delivers a rapid return on investment for any healthcare organisation. OneSign allows Trusts to protect sensitive citizen data while not intruding into staff workflows.

OneSign is an authentication and access management appliance designed to meet the needs of organisations of all sizes and authorisation requirements. It includes three separate but interconnected software modules:

“We are honoured to have won the Best Security Solution for healthcare award from SC Magazine,” said Omar Hussain, CEO of Imprivata. “This award validates the enormous commitment we have made to creating a product that so greatly benefits hospitals and trusts across Europe. Tighter security and user convenience are of paramount importance when dealing with sensitive patient information, and Imprivata OneSign fits these needs perfectly. Our approach means that Primary Care Trusts and Hospitals can build on the security framework provided by Connecting for Health to solve their local issues around passwords and user identities – this generates additional value for the overall NHS IT project, as well as helping users become more efficient in general.”
