Imprivata Appoints Rodger Weismann to Board of Directors

Former Phase Forward Chief Financial Officer Brings More than 40 Years of Software and Services Experience to Imprivata as Company Continues Rapid Growth

Lexington, Mass.— May 21, 2013—Imprivata®, a global leader in healthcare IT security solutions, today announced that Rodger Weismann has been appointed to the company’s Board of Directors and will serve as Chairman of the Audit Committee. Weismann brings more than 40 years of software and services experience to Imprivata, where he will provide counsel as Imprivata continues on its path of rapid growth. Weismann is currently a member of the Board of Directors and is Chairman of the Audit Committee at both Reval and Soundbite Communications, and he previously served as senior vice president and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Phase Forward, a publicly traded provider of data management solutions for clinical trials and drug safety that was acquired by Oracle in August 2010.

“We are excited to add Rodger to our Board of Directors. His financial experience as CFO of several publicly traded companies and his successful track record of helping grow companies from small startups to large publicly traded organizations will be critical in guiding Imprivata through its next phase of growth,” said Omar Hussain, president and CEO of Imprivata. “Rodger’s insight and experience will be instrumental in helping Imprivata implement the policies and procedures necessary to support our growth as we mature as a global organization.”

In addition to Phase Forward, Weismann has served as CFO at several other software and technology companies, including Inxight Software, Kabira Technologies, NONSTOP Solutions and McCormack & Dodge. He has also led several companies through the initial public offering (IPO) process, including both Forte Software and Banyan Systems, where his leadership was instrumental in the company’s growth from $3 million to $130 million. Weismann graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor’s degree in economics and he earned a master’s degree from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.

“Imprivata provides solutions to critical security challenges in healthcare that not only help organizations meet rigorous privacy and security regulations, but also improve the adoption of technology and enable physicians to focus on patient care,” said Weismann. “Imprivata has focused on an area of the healthcare IT market that no other company is concentrating on today, and in the process, is defining healthcare IT security as a new category with enormous potential for the foreseeable future. I look forward to working with Imprivata to continue this momentum and capitalize on the market opportunity.”
