Authentication management

Imprivata OneSign Authentication Management

Imprivata OneSign® Authentication Management delivers fast, secure No Click Access® to the applications and information that care providers need, whenever and wherever they need it.

Various security and regulatory compliance requirements mandate user authentication technology for accessing workstations and applications. As a result, care providers need to enter unique usernames and passwords (or PINs) for order signing, documentation signing, medication reconciliation, and most other application logins throughout their workflows. These laborious login requirements can disrupt clinical focus and obstruct patient care.

Imprivata OneSign Authentication Management addresses these challenges by enabling fast, secure, and auditable clinical access. Clinicians use either a badge or a fingerprint scan, coupled with an initial password or PIN. After their initial login, subsequent access to systems and applications only requires a simple tap of a badge, enabling the “Tap, Turn, Treat” methodology adopted by many Imprivata customers.

Proximity Card Readers

Imprivata OneSign proximity card readers allow clinicians to access clinical applications and patient records faster and easier. Instead of being required to remember and repetitively enter usernames and passwords, clinicians simply tap their badge to the proximity card reader and they gain access to the systems they need. For hospital IT teams, Imprivata proximity card readers reduce complexity and simplify management by creating a single source for purchase, support, and maintenance of their complete authentication solution. Imprivata proximity card readers support a broad range of card types and can support multiple card types on a single reader.

Self-Service Password Management

Imprivata OneSign® Self-Service Password Management provides clinicians with a fast, easy and secure method to reset and retrieve their passwords. Various security and compliance requirements mandate that passwords be complex and difficult to guess, so clinician often forgot their own passwords. When clinicians forget their passwords, they often have to call the IT help desk - a process that frustrates clinicians, impedes the patient care process, and adds cost for IT. Imprivata OneSign Self-Service Password Management addresses this challenge by giving organisations a simple, easy-to-implement solution that helps clinicians quickly and securely reset their passwords — without the need to call the helpdesk.

Fingerprint Biometrics

Imprivata OneSign® Fingerprint Biometric Identification gives care providers secure and easy access to desktops and applications with just a swipe of a fingerprint, eliminating the need to remember or enter usernames and passwords. Care providers can quickly access desktops, order a prescription or open a medicine cabinet without time-wasting login procedures.

By streamlining the authentication process and positively identifying and authenticating users by their fingerprint, Imprivata OneSign simplifies clinical workflows, enabling clinicians to spend more time with patients.

Secure Walk-Away

Imprivata OneSign Secure Walk-Away® automatically locks workstations when care providers leave and re-authenticates them when they return. This eliminates the need to manually lock sessions or use frustrating, unreliable inactivity timers.  Innovative camera-based 3D facial recognition technology automatically unlocks desktops only when the previously authenticated user returns to the workstation. The process minimises disruption to clinical workflows while meeting regulatory compliance and security requirements.
