Ed brings more than 20 years of product management, marketing and business development experience to Imprivata as well as industry thought leadership as a frequent speaker on regulatory compliance and information security. Prior to joining Imprivata, Ed was Senior Vice President of Corporate Development, Sales and Marketing at Liquid Machines, a leading software provider of data protection solutions which was acquired by Check Point Security Technologies in June 2010. An executive founder, Ed created and led the Liquid Machines’ widely-acclaimed go-to-market and product strategy, and is a co-inventor of patent #7,587,749, Computer Method and Apparatus for Managing Data Objects in a Distributed Context. Under his leadership, the company delivered the industry's first Enterprise Rights Management platform in 2003, expanded its product portfolio to include document, messaging and gateway-based solutions, and executed successful strategic alliances with Microsoft and Symantec. Previously, Ed was Vice President of Worldwide Marketing for IONA Technologies, the leading middleware and e-business platform provider for Web services integration. He has also held several senior marketing, product management and business development positions in various early stage and public software companies, including Rational Software, a provider of an integrated enterprise development environment, and SQA Inc., a leader in automated testing solutions.
