Over the years, Imprivata has grown rapidly through product development, adoption, and acquisitions. Industry or compliance acronyms are sometimes woven into our product nomenclature to be very specific about what is being offered and to provide context for what a product or solution solves. This page is meant as casual reference guide to categorize and notate such changes.
Understanding Imprivata product names and references
Use this quick reference guide to read through key acronyms and see how our product suite has evolved over time. While some product names are no longer used or available in their original capacity, we continue to serve all legacy customers and their unique requirements and may even provide such features under a different product or solution. iStop– This is not an Imprivata product; it is the acronym for the State of New York’s e-prescribing law – the first to mandate Electronic Prescribing for Controlled Substances (EPCS). Imprivata helps organizations comply with EPCS within any state, with Imprivata Access Compliance , a combination of Patient Privacy Intelligence & Monitoring and Drug Diversion Intelligence .
FairWarning– FairWarning was a company Imprivata acquired that originally developed what Imprivata now offers as Patient Privacy Intelligence & Monitoring and Drug Diversion Intelligence today – helping organizations achieve a more complete view of access data with integrated identity and access intelligence across Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and Personal Health Information (PHI).
GroundControl– GroundControl was a company Imprivata acquired that originally developed what Imprivata now offers as Mobile Access Management – allowing organizations to deploy simple authentication methods with a mobile-first security approach, helping to safeguard against mobile device attacks, drive accountability, boost productivity, and maximize mobile ROI. Licenses are primarily sold based on user counts; contact us for details.
OneSign– This was Imprivata’s flagship enterprise access management solution that primarily consisted of single sign-on (SSO), multifactor authentication (MFA), self-service password reset (SSPR), and virtual desktop access (VDA). This suite of products is now known collectively as Enterprise Access Management . Contact us for licensing details.
OneSign Spine Combined Workflow Plus– This was an Imprivata capability of OneSign sold in the United Kingdom to support National Health Service (NHS) smart card access. This is currently referred to as Imprivata Enterprise Access Management for NHS Access.
SecureLink– SecureLink was a company acquired by Imprivata in 2022 that developed what Imprivata now offers as Imprivata Vendor Privileged Access Management (VPAM) and Imprivata Customer Privileged Access Management (CPAM). These two offerings, which make up Imprivata’s Privileged Access Security platform , allow organizations to gain control and visibility over all privileged access — including user and vendor credentials — in a unified platform, to improve security and meet compliance without sacrificing internal teams’ productivity.
SecureLink Customer Connect– This is the former name of what is now known as Imprivata Customer Privileged Access Management (CPAM).
Maize Analytics– Maize Analytics was the patient privacy monitoring solution that SecureLink (acquired by Imprivata) originally offered. It is no longer available for new customers, only existing ones, and all legacy customers have been, or are in the process of, migrating to Imprivata Patient Privacy Intelligence & Monitoring .
Privacy Monitor– Privacy Monitor was an original Maize Analytics product name for the patient privacy monitoring solution; it is no longer available to new customers, only existing, and all legacy customers have been, or are in the process of, migrating to Imprivata Patient Privacy Intelligence & Monitoring .
OGiTix– OGiTix is the name of the company Imprivata acquired that developed Identity Access Management (IAM) solutions for the German market; the core product was known as OGTix Unimate. Use the region selector on the Imprivata website to reflect our German market offerings.
OGiTiX Unimate– OGTiX Unimate is the product-specific name of the German-based product offering for Identity Access Management (IAM) . Use the region selector on the Imprivata website to reflect our German market offerings.
Xton Technologies– Xton Technologies was the name of a company Imprivata acquired, which developed what Imprivata now sells today as Privileged Access Management (PAM). With Privileged Access Management, organizations can discover, manage, audit, and monitor privileged accounts, passwords, and sessions of all types.
Xton Access Manager– This is the product-specific name of the former access security product offered by Xton Technologies, which Imprivata acquired, now known as Imprivata Privileged Access Management (PAM).
XTAM– This is the acronym for Xton Access Manager, now known as Imprivata Privileged Access Management (PAM).
HT Systems– HT Systems was a technology company that Imprivata acquired, which developed PatientSecure, a positive patient identification solution that uses palm vein recognition technology to accurately and securely identify patients. PatientSecure is no longer sold as a new product, but legacy customers are still served.
Cortext– Cortext was the name of Imprivata’s former secure texting platform for clinical communications that is no longer offered. Cortext was a secure communications platform for healthcare that facilitates care coordination by allowing physicians, nurses, and patients to text securely.
Identity Governance and Administration (IGA)– Imprivata Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) was a former product dedicated to helping organizations manage and control digital identities, roles, and permissions across various systems and applications. It was acquired by SailPoint in 2024 and is no longer offered.
IdG Automated Provisioning– IdG Automated Provisioning was a product-specific name of Imprivata’s Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) solution that focused on delivering role-based automated provisioning for Epic EMP, Epic SER, Cerner, and legacy healthcare applications, providing a robust security and compliance solution inclusive of attestation and reporting features. It was acquired by SailPoint in 2024 and is no longer offered.
IdentiPHI– IdentiPHI, its SAFsolution product, intellectual property, and biometric patents, were acquired by Imprivata in 2009 to complement Imprivata’s flagship enterprise access management solution, Enterprise Access Management (known in 2009 formally as OneSign), to provide customers even greater flexibility in their secure authentication options. IdentiPHI, SAFsolution, and Saflink solutions are no longer available and were integrated into Imprivata’s Enterprise Access Management suite. Customers and their requirements were migrated to Enterprise Access Management.
Caradigm– Caradigm was the original name of the company Imprivata acquired in 2017, which became Imprivata Identity Governance and Administration (IGA), which was subsequently sold to SailPoint in 2024.
Access Intelligence Platform (AIP)– The Imprivata Access Intelligence Platform ( AIP ) is the underlying data and analytics layer on which current and future analytics applications are built. This is not a product but rather the platform on which other products are built, such as Patient Privacy Intelligence & Monitoring and Drug Diversion Intelligence .
Cloud Solutions– Imprivata Cloud Solutions was a product offered by FairWarning, acquired by Imprivata, that monitored data for non-healthcare applications (such as Salesforce). It is no longer offered.
Confirm ID– Confirm ID was the former name of Imprivata’s multifactor authentication (MFA) platform for Electronic Prescribing for Controlled Substances ( EPCS ), secure remote access, and other workflows. It has since been moved under Imprivata’s Enterprise Access Management (EAM) product suite. Confirm ID licenses are still offered on a per-user basis, but the purchasing process of individual components has changed – please contact us for more details.
Verosint– Verosint, which offers frontline user security by continuously monitoring for anomalous access behaviors, validating the integrity of those workflows, and orchestrating rapid, adaptive responses, developed the original Identity Threat Detection and Response (ITDR) solutions and capabilities and was acquired by Imprivata in 2025, to be integrated into Imprivata’s Enterprise Access Management (EAM) and ancillary products and features.
