Imprivata Integrates HID Crescendo Smart Cards with OneSign Authentication and Access Mgmt Platform

Providing customers even greater flexibility for achieving 360 degrees of secure identity authentication management

LEXINGTON, MA and SAN FRANCISCO, CA - April 8, 2008 - Imprivata, Inc., the converged identity and access management appliance company, today announced that it has entered into a partnership with HID Global to resell its Crescendo™ smart card technology as part of a comprehensive OneSign solution deployment. The two companies will work closely together to meet increasing demand for strong user authentication by having Imprivata seamlessly manage Crescendo from within the OneSign® Platform.

Added support for HID Crescendo smart cards expands Imprivata’s already extensive multi-factor authentication management capabilities, making secure user authentication and access easy for companies to adopt, implement and manage via a single appliance. This is the latest example of Imprivata’s commitment to making identity and access affordable and manageable.

“Imprivata has long understood how to combine strong authentication and converged identity management to provide a secure single integrated user access policy with complete track and trace audit capability. In combination with Crescendo smart cards, Imprivata’s OneSign Platform gives its customers the ability to use a single card for building and computer access while delivering stronger security and user convenience,” said Mark Scaparro, vice president of Market Strategy, Access and Identity, HID Global. “Imprivata’s OneSign platform is unique because of its physical/logical convergence capability that allows organizations to achieve location-based user authentication with no impact to systems or workflow. This is integral to helping protect companies against the increasing inside data threats they face each day.”

By integrating with popular security technologies like Crescendo, other strong authentication alternatives and building access control systems, Imprivata enables companies to easily implement an effective strategy to secure employee access to networks, applications and critical data. Identity proliferation has become a difficult challenge facing today’s enterprise, and OneSign uniquely helps companies consolidate their various silos of identity and provides a single converged access policy that is easy to manage and provides greater security.

“Smart cards are increasingly recognized as a reliable, secure means to authenticate users. This partnership with HID gives OneSign users another important alternative to keeping identity and access management affordable, easy and secure,” said Omar Hussain, Imprivata’s president and CEO. “HID Global is world renowned for its innovation and high standards for authentication. This is another important step in providing customers with the flexibility and manageability they want.”

Imprivata will be located in booth 310 at the RSA Conference, taking place from April 7-11, 2008 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA. Throughout the week, the company will be conducting demonstrations of OneSign 4.0, the newest version of its converged identity and access management solution.

Imprivata’s OneSign platform is a strong authentication and access management solution conveniently packaged in a secure purpose-built appliance. It offers an affordable and highly effective way to address network security issues and achieve compliance while solving password management problems, reducing IT help desk costs and improving user productivity and security. The solution’s access management tracking and reporting capabilities enable organizations to better understand who accessed what, when and from where, helping to comply with government regulations. The OneSign platform includes OneSign Authentication Management (AM), which increases network security by replacing network access passwords with strong authentication options; OneSign Single Sign-On (SSO), which quickly and effectively solves password management, security and user access issues; and OneSign Physical/Logical, which uniquely integrates building and network access systems to enable location-based authentication. In addition to Crescendo, OneSign also seamlessly supports finger print biometrics; one-time password tokens; active and passive proximity cards; and national ID smart card two-factor authentication modalities.
