Imprivata OneSign No Click Access to Patient Data Now Available for la Carte CPS G3

Expanded Support for CPS Meets French Government Requirements while Speeding Workflows and Increasing Productivity for Busy Clinicians

Paris, FRANCE – 24 May 2012 - Imprivata®, Inc., the leader in secure access and collaboration for healthcare, today announced that in order to help French healthcare organizations meet government requirements, Imprivata OneSign® now supports the Health Professional Card (la Carte de Professionnel de Santé (CPS)) Generation 3.  By combining full cryptographic authentication with fast, convenient No Click Access® to data, in collaboration with a virtual desktop solution with session roaming like Dell’s Mobile Clinical Computing (MCC), clinicians can now insert the CPS card into a reader to authenticate at the start of each work day, then securely log-on/log-off throughout the rest of the shift by simply tapping the card (CPS) to a reader at any shared workstation saving precious time that can instead be spent on patients as well as improved efficiency and satisfaction, all while complying with government security regulations.

Enabling fast and secure access to patient data has become a priority, particularly as the French project regarding the Personal Medical Record (Dossier Medical Personnel (DMP)) has seen widespread adoption in France. Once paper-based health records are digitised, security measures such as passwords required for every log on can become tedious and time consuming.  By removing the multiple, repetitive log-ons/log-offs that slow their workflows and interrupt their thought process, Imprivata eliminates ‘clicks’ for clinicians and enhances care delivery. The ability to access data quickly, without compromising security addresses two inherently conflicting goals: improve efficiency and tighten security practices around patient health information. Imprivata OneSign ensures that data security fits unobtrusively into day-to-day tasks, promoting efficiency rather than hindering it, and encouraging further use of DMP.

“France has made great progress in the area of digitising patient records since the DMP project was introduced in 2004”, said Mark Clark, Vice President of International Sales at Imprivata. “Yet while the benefits of electronic records are enormous, change is never easy for users, and balancing clinician efficiency with data security is always a challenge.  By delivering No Click Access support for government-mandated the V3 CPS card, we are able to help French health IT organisations to strike that balance, and satisfy all of their constituents.”

“Solutions like Dell’s Mobile Clinical Computing together with Imprivata’s single sign on OneSign capability connect clinicians securely and help make them more efficient, enabling better patient care for French citizens” says Phillippe Rivere, Dell French Healthcare Sales Director. “Dell believes in information-driven healthcare and when information is interconnected, it is available when and where it is needed to enable better patient care”.

Imprivata OneSign with support for the V2 and V3 CPS Card running on Dell’s Mobile Clinical Computing solution is available today and on display this week at HIT Paris 2012 on Dell’s booth, number #W37.
