Imprivata customers highlight success stories at HIMSS 2023

At Imprivata, we’re proud of the strong partnerships we’ve forged with our customers. That’s why we were honored and privileged to host several of them as they shared their stories at the recent Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Annual Conference and Exhibition this past April.

We had a chance to hear more about the IT related challenges these organizations face and how they were able to employ hard work, strategic thinking, creativity, and Imprivata digital identity management solutions to overcome them.

We’d like to offer a big thank you to all our customers who offered their unique perspective at HIMSS. If you couldn’t make it to the conference, here are highlights from each of their stories:

Seattle Children’s Hospital

Seattle Children’s is a pediatric health system with 46 sites across Washington, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho, and we heard about their approach to discovering digital identity solutions that worked for them, their clinicians, and their patients.

The use and implementation of Imprivata Mobile, Imprivata OneSign®, and Imprivata Confirm ID® helped Seattle Children’s enable secure electronic health record access and multifactor authentication, allowing the health system to save time and money while reducing clinician burnout and increasing time spent on patient care.

Penn State Health

With 94 outpatient locations and 18,000 employees, Penn State Health saw numerous opportunities to enhance its digital identity lifecycle management to improve patient outcomes and clinician experience.

The Imprivata digital identity platform helped Penn State accelerate onboarding, enhance day one clinician productivity, increase IT productivity, improve visibility across its enterprise, and reduce security risks surrounding credential sharing and privilege creep.

These solutions facilitated a 99.59% reduction in processing time for new and departing employees and 76,000 hours saved.

Renown Health

This health system spoke about the Imprivata Digital Identity Maturity Model and how it’s critical for health delivery organizations to apply this kind of critical thinking to strike an optimal balance between security and clinician efficiency.

Northeast Georgia

This Georgia health system with four hospital campuses and 10,000 employees spoke about its desire to improve staff communication and user experience with the aid of a mobile solution.

This led to the organization partnering with Imprivata to power its mobile workflows with digital identity management, enabling the usage of personal devices and effort application access. The result? A more unified workflow and communication experience.

Virtua Health

Virtua and its 400-plus care locations established identity governance as the foundation for transforming its identity and access management (IAM) journey.

With identity governance, single sign-on, and multifactor authentication, Virtua revolutionized its onboarding and offboarding processes, onboarding 4,000 new users in three days – a process that had previously taken weeks in the past.

Allina Health

The main challenge facing Allina Health was managing its third-party remote access. This health system, supported by 27,000 employees and 4,200 physicians across Minnesota and Wisconsin, empowered its teams with SecureLink Enterprise Access to streamline its vendor privileged access management processes.

After a smooth implementation period, Allina Health saw its vendor access waiting period drop from 2.5 weeks to 2.5 days, with enhanced oversight and control of when and how long vendors can log in.

Key takeaway: IT is critical in helping healthcare delivery organizations thrive

Our customers may have different specialties and serve different regions, but they share commonalities: the need to deliver high quality care to their patients, while providing easy but secure IT system access to clinicians and vendors.

Rather than sticking to traditional methods to solve modern security, compliance, and workflow challenges, each partner adopted a forward-thinking, collaborative mindset. They applied ingenuity and innovation to their own specific business challenges, with Imprivata solutions and support empowering them every step of the way.
