CDW Healthcare and Imprivata Partner to Bring Identity and Access Management Solutions to Customers

OneSign Helps Lake Forest Hospital Focus on Patient Care; Eliminates Password Problems, Improves Helpdesk Productivity and Eases HIPAA Compliance Concerns

Lexington, MA and Vernon Hills, Ill. – February 19, 2008 Imprivata®, Inc., the converged identity and access management appliance company, and CDW Healthcare, a leading provider of technology products and services to healthcare organizations, announced today that the two companies have partnered to bring Imprivata’s Single Sign-on, Authentication Management and Physical/Logical Security Convergence solutions to the healthcare market. The partnership has proven an attractive answer for IT security & authentication management concerns.

In addition to the recent announcement of joint customer United Regional Healthcare, Imprivata’s OneSign® Single Sign-On (SSO) solution has also been deployed by Lake Forest Hospital. Based in suburban Chicago, Lake Forest Hospital has been committed to providing quality healthcare with a personal touch since 1899. The 215-bed hospital provides a comprehensive range of leading-edge medical services with more than 1,600 professional staff members and nearly 600 physicians.

Working closely with CDW Healthcare, Lake Forest’s IT Department selected the OneSign solution after learning the benefits of SSO. The hospital then worked with their account management team to orchestrate the design, delivery and implementation of the technology. The flexible, appliance-based single sign-on solution from Imprivata helps Lake Forest Hospital minimize costly password resets, improve helpdesk productivity and provide physicians and staff simple and secure access to the applications they need each day to deliver the highest levels of quality care.

“OneSign is very cost-effective,” said Lake Forest Hospital security administrator Josh Rosales. “OneSign enabled us to accomplish what we envisioned -- to eliminate generic, multi-user passwords and user names, reduce help desk costs and ensure HIPAA compliance. CDW Healthcare and Imprivata truly understood the challenges a hospital like Lake Forest faces and brought the right solution to the table to meet our needs.”

“In their drive to improve data security and expedite patient care, providers need a single, easily-implemented platform capable of addressing challenging identity management issues,” said Bob Rossi, senior director of CDW Healthcare. “OneSign’s SSO technology helps to meet these needs by providing an effective, flexible solution that helps to protect sensitive patient information and facilitate clinician access to critical applications.”

“We were on the verge of buying a software-based SSO solution, but the high price tag made us step back and evaluate our options. OneSign is an intuitive solution, so it’s easy to deploy, and it’s appliance-based, so it’s easy to maintain,” added Rosales, who expects a 30 percent increase in help desk productivity once OneSign is fully deployed at Lake Forest Hospital. “But most importantly for our success, it’s easy to use. Implementing OneSign means our physicians and staff don’t have to log on several times a day with an average of seven to nine passwords.”

“Hospitals like Lake Forest are measured by the level of service they provide, and they expect that from the vendors they partner with,” said CDW Healthcare account manager Michael Kendrick. “We demonstrated that we could meet their IT security needs and their budget, and they also saw the development costs would be much lower because OneSign was so easy to use. This helped Lake Forest quickly deploy and use practical technology that allows them to focus on patients and attend to their every need.”

In addition to the password efficiencies and increased staff productivity enabled by OneSign, Lake Forest utilizes the built-in monitoring capabilities to track which users access which applications and when. This enables Lake Forest to generate detailed access logs and reports that provide the audit trails necessary to comply with patient data safety mandates like those required by HIPAA.

“Patient care and HIPAA compliance are of utmost importance to hospitals today. Implementing OneSign SSO has enabled Lake Forest to ease the application log-in process for its team members while ensuring patient data in those applications is secure so they can focus on their most important priority – the patient,” added Omar Hussain, president and CEO of Imprivata. “We’re proud of the progress that Lake Forest Hospital has made with SSO and thrilled to partner with an organization like CDW that has the same strong commitment to customer care as Imprivata.”
