Imprivata Appoints Dr. Sean P. Kelly as Chief Medical Officer

Distinguished Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Emergency Physician Joins Healthcare Technology Leader

LEXINGTON, MA - November 15, 2011 - Imprivata® the leader in single sign-on (SSO) and access management for healthcare, announced today the appointment of Sean P. Kelly, MD as the company’s chief medical officer. Dr. Kelly will work closely with clinical and IT leadership to identify trends that enhance the Imprivata OneSign® platform and drive innovative new products for improving physician efficiency. One of his charters in this role will be to chair Imprivata’s Customer Advisory Board, which comprises a cross-section of healthcare IT leaders who meet to discuss issues related to improving clinician productivity, securing patient data and increasing the use of technology among physicians. In addition to his role as Imprivata CMO, Dr. Kelly will continue to practice as an emergency physician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a level-one trauma center and academic teaching hospital in Boston.

Dr. Kelly trained at Harvard College, University of Massachusetts Medical School and Vanderbilt University, where he served as resident and Chief Resident. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine, a Fellow in the American College of Emergency Physicians and has published a textbook on emergency medicine. Dr. Kelly is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and has won several teaching awards, including Harvard Affiliated EM Residency Best Teaching Attending and Role Model awards.
