Imprivata Announces First Secure Communications Solution for Healthcare to Integrate with Citrix XenMobile

Integration Simplifies Enterprise-wide Deployment of Imprivata Cortext across Smartphones, Tablets and other Mobile Devices

Lexington, Mass.—January 14, 2015—Imprivata® (NYSE: IMPR), a leading provider of authentication, access management and secure communications solutions for the healthcare industry, today announced that Imprivata Cortext® is the first secure communications platform for healthcare to integrate with XenMobile®, a comprehensive enterprise mobility management (EMM) solution developed by Citrix. The integration simplifies the organization-wide deployment of Imprivata Cortext and provides central IT control over smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices.

“Imprivata Cortext enables healthcare providers to securely communicate while eliminating inefficient steps across clinical workflows,” said Ed Gaudet, general manager of the Imprivata Cortext Products Group. “Our expanded partnership with Citrix, which includes integration of Imprivata OneSign® with Citrix XenDesktop® and XenApp® for fast access to virtual desktops, equips IT with a powerful and easy solution for centrally deploying and managing Imprivata Cortext across millions of mobile devices in healthcare.”

Imprivata Cortext is an award-winning solution that enables secure mobile and desktop messaging across care teams and multiple healthcare organizations. Imprivata Cortext supports native platforms for iPhones, iPads, Android-based devices, BlackBerrys and desktops to improve communications and care coordination while addressing the inefficiencies of pagers and other outdated technologies. Imprivata Cortext also offers application programming interface (API)-level integration with leading third-party alerting, scheduling and EMR applications to allow providers to receive critical alerts, scheduling notifications, lab results and other information directly to their preferred device, which helps customers further streamline clinical workflow and improve care coordination.

“Imprivata Cortext offers the functionality and security that we need to give providers a convenient, easy-to-use communications solution that also meets compliance and patient privacy requirements,” said David Wendt, RPh, chief information officer at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (Baton Rouge, La.). “We are able to improve communication and care coordination securely by eliminating insecure provider-to-provider texting with Imprivata Cortext. Integration with XenMobile allows us to more easily extend these benefits to a much broader user base by simplifying the deployment process.”

XenMobile provides the most comprehensive EMM solution to manage and secure mobile apps, data and devices along with the broadest set of business-class productivity apps. The integration with XenMobile enables auto-provisioning of Imprivata Cortext licenses through Active Directory, giving IT administrators the ability to more quickly and conveniently deliver Imprivata Cortext to end users. Imprivata Cortext will also be available in the Citrix Worx App Gallery, giving customers additional flexibility in how they implement and manage the solution.

“In the healthcare industry, IT faces the challenge of managing an increasingly mobile workforce. Care providers are always on the move in the hospital and between different facilities,” said Manoj Raisinghani, Vice President of Product Marketing, Mobile Platforms group, Citrix. “The integration of XenMobile with Imprivata Cortext enables our joint customers in the healthcare business to provide end users access to a more convenient and secure communications solution, delivering significantly better experience for IT, care providers, and patients.”
